Topical Antiperspirant

Antiperspirants work by blocking the sweat pores for up to 24 hours. Antiperspirants are considered the first line of treatment for excessive sweating of the underarms, hands, feet, and sometimes face. They are called the first line of treatment because they should always be tried first. They are also the least invasive.
Antiperspirants are available either over-the-counter (OTC) or by prescription from your doctor. They vary in strength and effectiveness.
Prescription and specialty antiperspirants often contain aluminum chloride as the active ingredient. These are among the most effective antiperspirants but can cause skin irritation.
How Can Treatment Help?
These conditions can be significantly improved through highly selective nerve treatments, such as endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS). This minimally invasive procedure interrupts nerve signals responsible for blushing and sweating, reducing or stopping symptoms and improving quality of life.
